Calcutta: Amid more restrictions, Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) Mayor Firhad Hakim said childhood immunizations will be available at 16 different schools in Kolkata.
“Amid the restrictions that will be imposed from Monday, vaccinations for children and the elderly will be carried out as planned, following all pandemic protocols,” Hakim said.
Hakim also claimed that the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) would take doctors from all state government-run schools during the vaccination, and private schools should keep a doctor during the vaccination campaign.
“All schools should maintain the cowin portal and register the names of students,” added the mayor of KMC.
According to CMOH Ajay Chakraborty in Kolkata, all medical colleges, 37 UPHC, 16 schools (1 school per district) will give the Covid vaccination for 15 to 18 years from Monday.
“In the state, a total of 479 Blocks are going to vaccinate at one school per Block. Further afield in 338 hospitals will also be set up camps for vaccination. Schools will be closed for academic sessions but the vaccination program will be continued, ”said Chakraborty.
According to Dr. Arpan Dutta Roy, the activity rate in Calcutta is over 16 percent.
Urging everyone to maintain protocols, Dutta Roy said children who maintain all protocols should get the shot.
“Because of the casual attitude of ordinary people, doctors have to pay for it. Everyone must maintain a protocol in order to break the chain. Children in particular must follow the protocols even when taking vaccines. No one should miss their immunization schedule, ”said Dutta Roy.
