Human communication

Renault Pet Communication EV is the future of maintaining balance between your pet and its life

We cannot exclude the fact that interacting with pets can improve a human’s physical and mental health. Ask any pet parent and they’ll confirm it wholeheartedly. But as I see it, not everyone has enough time to drop by and communicate with our pooches or kittens. Travel and work schedules are the two biggest criminals. An electric vehicle design for Renault, aptly called “Pet Communication Device”, aims to provide a stylish and accessible concept of transportation that could level things in our favor in the future.

If you’re drawn to new design and innovation, you’ve come across the Renault EZ-GO Concept Vehicle. This concept of autonomous and shared electric mobility with large bay windows and accessibility from the trunk has attracted attention. Draw some clues from this conception for the autonomy of public transport; Sejoon Kim’s Renault pet communication device, is perhaps designed for ultimate intimacy between human and pet.

This is considered an electric vehicle that allows pets and their owners to share space beyond the confines of their home. The designer believes that Gen Z’s drive for individualism and heavy reliance on smart devices will further alienate them in the future when their pet may be the only companion. In this scenario, free time with the cat or dog would be a relief experience. Thus, this EV design is created to ensure that the owner and pet can easily enter and exit the vehicle. It would have a large WZ-GO style door in the back that would allow the animal to access its space in the back of the vehicle.

The design renderings give a very basic exterior appeal reminiscent of the toy cars of our childhood, but the interiors are detailed and impressive for a pet owner in me. The space inside is divided into two sections (open in the middle). The front of the vehicle is for humans only while the back is a pet play area supplied with balls, toys, cat scratchers and more. The human cockpit can be transformed into an office. The dashboard folds out to form a table, you have a projector, speakers for entertainment and a coffee machine to keep you on your caffeine!

For more bonding and communication possibilities, there is a pet bed under the owner’s seat, which besides being comfortable would ensure that the pet does not experience motion sickness while driving. A nice sunroof allows owner and pet to sit and watch the clouds by day and the stars by night. On the bonnet is the Renault logo which, if you pull forward, unfolds a table to create an addition to your outdoor lifestyle with the animal. It’s unclear if Sejoon’s pet-friendly ride would be self-contained, but if so, it will open new avenues for human-pet bonding.
